Dedicated to issues of social justice and understanding the importance of upholding the law, Asif Aziz is passionate about funding a new generation of British Muslim lawyers, barristers and judges.

Currently undertaking her LLM at Birkbeck, University of London through the generous support of Asif Aziz, Hauwa Shehu is a Criminal Barrister with significant experience in the criminal justice sector both within the UK and internationally.

By undertaking her LLM through the funding provided by Asif Aziz and The Aziz Foundation, Hauwa highlights how her Masters will allow her to ‘gain the skills and knowledge required about how historical, current and future international developments and crises impact the justice system and our communities within Britain’.

Asif Aziz is passionate about funding individuals who are proactively giving back to the community, with Hauwa being no exception through her role as the current Chair of the CPS Muslim Network and through her management of an award winning women’s centre in East London.
